One of DLA Architecture's flagship projects within Leeds, Threadworks (Lisbon Street) is a striking 529-room PBSA scheme which occupies part of the site of the former Leeds International Swimming Pool. The exterior cladding creates an interesting 3 dimensional illusion, and the well-considered bevelled edges soften its appearance on the skyline.
My brief was to capture the exterior of the building from both the ground and from the sky, to document it's new status on the skyline and also to provide a record for the overall masterplan's progress.
The Lisbon Street masterplan also includes an apart-hotel and two residential towers, still in the pipeline, but with planning consented, construction is to start in 2026.
